Day 1 – Saturday August 20, 2022 - We fly from Portland to Dallas, and are concerned since we have a very short connection time. But we are assured by airline personnel that we will be fine. And in fact we are. Made it with time to spare – not much but a bit. Then they announced that because it was a full flight, there would be limited overhead space for carry-on’s so we would probably need to check all carry on bags. Since between the 4 of us we had 4 carry-on’s, we decided to wait it out and see if they made us check the bags. They did not, and low and behold, it turned out there was plenty of overhead space, and lots of empty seats as well. So, apparently the airlines lied – who knew! Then it’s a 9 plus hour flight to Heathrow, (and no sleep on the plane, again, ugh) we have a couple of hours lay-over before our final flight to Inverness, Scotland.
